New
Life Communications began in 1973. New Life started as a
video remote truck facilities company. New Life soon expanded
into audio recording. After buying some recording equipment
- new and used - the first recording session was held in
Ron Huisinga's parent's living room. New Life recorded for
local church groups and the Youth for Christ chapter.
Ron graduated
from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology.
He achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
in 1974.
After graduating,
New Life Communications soon bought a little 70-year-old,
solid brick church in Willmar, MN and built offices in the
basement and a sound recording studio in the former nave.
Because New Life was known as a recording facility, people
began to ask about their church sound problems.
At that time,
the video remote truck division, called NLC Productions,
was also very busy. NLC Productions provided video facilities
from the 45' and 48' remote trucks for the North Stars,
Twins, Gophers, State High School Tournament and numerous
parades and telethons. That division was sold in 1990, but
it laid a good base for our video knowledge.
After attending
a Syn-Aud-Con seminar, an intense 3-day workshop for sound
technicians, NLC became more serious about working with
church sound systems. Requests from area churches continued
at an increased pace - confirming the NLC mission. |
